SYDNEY WORKSHOP WITH RILEY LEE & BRONWYN KIRKPATRICK

The Music Room, Green Square


ASS presents a full-day Workshop with Riley Lee and Bronwyn Kirkpatrick.

The workshop will include traditional honkyoku and Rando pieces.

Bronwyn will include a couple of her own beautiful compositions and a duet.

Riley will teach by a piece by Hildegard von Bingen, as well as a class on memorising and practicing practice etc., which will not be piece-specific.

More details will be available following registration as will all workshop materials, notation, audio files etc.


Location
The Music Room, Green Square Library, Green Square
The Green Square Library is located directly opposite the exit from Green Square Station, one stop past Central Station on the T8 Airport Line.
The Music Room is on 4th floor - enquire at Library Desk.

1.8 shakuhachi - none for hire/loan
Food - the Library has a cafe which will be open and there may be others in close proximity, or bring your own.

Workshop Schedule
Two rooms have been booked for our two teachers.
We will assemble in The Music Room for robuki.
There will be three teaching sessions
10:00 - 10:30 Introduction and robuki
10:30 - 12:00 Session 1: Daha and Tabibito no Uta
12:00 - 12:30 Lunch
12:30 - 13:30 Session 2: Pneuma (Breath Spirit) and Tsuki (Moon), memorising and practice principles
13:30 - 13:45 Short break / changeover
13:45 - 15:00 Session 3: Kumoi Jishi (Cloud Lion), and De Sancta Maria (comp. Hildegard)
15:00 - 15:20 Joint Q&A, etc.

The Library closes at 15:30.
